Today, I was in Cardio (Heart) ward and was reading my book and suddenly I heard Here Without You song by 3 Doors Down on the opposite bed. I went there and asked the patient is he listening to 3 Doors Down? He said yes, it's his favourite and I said mine too! Then he let me stay there in front of his bed for a while to listen. Then, the next song, Always by Bon Jovi was on. Then I asked, is it Bon Jovi? He said yes! He told me that he listens to all these kind of songs because he has lost 3 wives due to chronic illnesses (he was married 3 times consecutively). He said he has a RM12 000 home sound system installed in a room which he call his therapy room to calm him. All I can do is just feel sorry for him and stayed there throughout the morning while making conversations with him. ( C'mon, they're songs from Bon Jovi, Scorpions, Eagles and Guns N Roses, I can't go anywhere). He showed me his playlist and man, he has good taste! Both of us even compared our playlist. He told me the songs reminded him of the good old times with his wives and it's been 17 years since the last wife. I guess he literally has a "wounded heart" so to speak.
